Attention history enthusiasts and genealogists:

In this session, participants will learn the key steps to capture oral histories. By sharing her research and experiences with gathering the oral histories of local Lebanese elders, Dr. Victoria Abboud will offer ways to start and continue oral history projects.

Topics will include:
– the ethics of capturing oral histories within and outside of your own community
– step-by-step approaches to seeking consent and preparing interview questions
– strategies for storing and sharing oral history projects

If there is sufficient interest with this session, we will plan for a separate hands-on workshop so that participants can begin their own projects.

*This session is supported through the City of Windsor Arts, Culture , and Heritage Fund.*
