Heather Crewe, Outreach/Educational Chair for the Bicentennial Branch of the UELAC has worked very hard to proceed with the Loyalist Burial Plaquing Project starting in Essex County but later continuing into the surrounding areas of Chatham/Kent Counties of Southwestern Ontario which we also serve. The four local loyalists we are honouring are: Alexander McCormick, John Alexander Quick, Rudolph Huffman and John Snider. The event time is from 10:30 – 11:30 AM followed by an informal reception at The Fruit Wagon located close to the Huffman and Toffelmire-Snider Cemeteries. The itinerary is flexible so you can attend all four or one of the sites. We hope everyone meets afterwards for fellowship, hot mulled cider, homemade baked goods and lively conversations about the Loyalists of Essex County. We encourage you to share with historically minded friends and relatives. We have extended invitations to local community leaders who have supported this project. Please RSVP to: ASAP so we know how many people to expect.
